Car valeting and car detailing are two distinct services aimed at maintaining and enhancing the appearance of a vehicle, but they differ significantly in scope and detail. Car valeting is a service focused on maintaining and restoring the cleanliness of a vehicle, both inside and out. It includes services such as exterior washing, waxing or polishing, interior cleaning, and tyre and trim dressing. The primary goal of valeting is to keep the car looking clean and fresh through regular upkeep, making it a quicker and less intensive process compared to detailing.
Car detailing, on the other hand, is a thorough and meticulous process that goes beyond standard valeting. It involves a comprehensive approach to deep-cleaning, restoring, and sometimes enhancing various aspects of the vehicle. Exterior detailing includes paint correction to remove imperfections, claying to eliminate bonded contaminants, machine polishing, and applying high-quality protective coatings. Interior detailing involves deep cleaning of carpets, seats and upholstery, steam cleaning, and detailed attention to vents, buttons, and intricate areas. Additionally, detailing often includes engine bay cleaning and specialized services such as leather conditioning and headlight restoration. The primary goal of detailing is to restore the vehicle to its best possible condition, offering a much higher level of attention to detail and protection than valeting.

Our Story
In 2020, Foley Auto Valeting was born from a combination of passion, resilience, and an eye for perfection. Our founder, James Foley, faced a significant turning point when made redundant after a lifetime in administration, account management, and customer service. Rather than looking back, James saw this as an opportunity to pursue a long-held dream of starting a business.
With a keen eye for detail and a meticulous approach to caring for personal and family vehicles, vehicle valeting and detailing emerged as the natural fit. After months of careful planning and preparation, Foley Auto Valeting was launched and with the help of an industry mentor, our founder quickly gained valuable product and chemical knowledge, tirelessly working to enhance his skill set. Within six months, we were entrusted with the care of many luxury, performance and supercars
In 2021, we joined the International Detailing Association (IDA), the world's largest detailing trade association, committing to their Code of Ethics. That same year, we qualified as 'Certified Motorcycle Detailers' by the UK Detailing Academy and received training and certification by Rupe's in Machine Polishing.
The journey of excellence continued in 2022, as we became 'Certified Detailers' and 'Skills-Validated' by the International Detailing Association and in 2023, we further expanded our expertise by training and certifying in leather care with Geist Leather. Recognizing the growing demand for our high-quality services, we rebranded to Foleys Details in 2023.
Late in 2023, Foleys Details decided to specialize solely in motorcycle detailing, becoming Dorset's leading motorcycle detailers. However, our drive for excellence and outstanding reputation led to numerous requests being regularly received to detail luxury, performance and prestige cars. To meet this demand and care for our legacy car clientele and new enquiries, we launched our sister company, Prestige Details.
Prestige Details emerged to fill the need for highly skilled detailers with experience in luxury and performance cars who could provide mobile services. Our mission is to deliver exceptional detailing services that reflect the prestige and performance of the vehicles we care for, ensuring every client receives the utmost attention and care.
